Being accused of a crime, no matter the severity, can substantially impact the accused person’s life. Allegations alone have the tendency to negatively impact the personal and professional reputation of the accused. Therefore, it is imperative that accused offenders of drug crimes take the time to understand the charges against them and what actions they can take to reduce the consequences of the charges.

According to recent reports, two men were arrested in Virginia Beach for allegedly selling drugs and guns within the area. According to preliminary investigations, police claim that some of these meetings for apparent transactions took place in the parking lot of a grocery store.

Based on court documents, one of the accused men apparently trafficked a large amount of cocaine that derived from New York, North Carolina and Florida. Along with drugs, both men allegedly sold guns as well. Police believe that these transactions have been occurring from May 2014 through January 2017. The two were arrested after they attempted to make a sale to a police informant.

One man is charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and the distribution of cocaine. The other defendant faces charges of conspiracy, distribution, possession of a firearm during and related to drug trafficking and the possession of an unregistered silencer.

When individuals face multiple drug charges, it is important to note that they still have the right to a criminal defense. Initiating a timely defense can not only protect the person’s rights, but can also provide options that can lead to a reduction or even dismissal of the charges against them.
