Massage chain employees accused of sexual abuse

Nowadays, more and more women are coming forward with allegations of sexual assault and other sexual crimes. Sex crimes carry serious penalties in Virginia, where many people convicted of sex crimes end up in prison for many years. One of the most recent cases involve employees at a popular massage therapy chain with locations all over Virginia.

More than 180 women have spoken up regarding alleged incidents of sexual assault by the chain’s employees. Many women have reported that their massage therapists groped and penetrated them. When the women complained to the company, the company allegedly ignored their complaints.

One woman claimed that she was assaulted in a massage parlor located in Richmond, Virginia, after her therapist covered her mouth and inserted fingers into her vagina. When the woman reported it to the desk clerk, the clerk apparently said that they would handle it internally and that police would not need to be called. While the therapist in this case was convicted, there are many massage therapists across the country that are currently awaiting their day in court.

Sex crimes often boil down to one person claiming that a crime occurred, while the other denies it happened. If you are accused of a sex crime, it can be beneficial to talk to a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. An experienced attorney will work to gather concrete evidence to prove that the incident did not occur in the first place or that it was consensual. With the right defense strategy, your attorney may be able to have your charges reduced, allowing you to face less serious penalties. In some cases, your attorney may be able to get your charges dropped completely.
